Materials Jobs: Full Professor in Materials Science for Electronic Devices and Sensors
At the Faculty/Department of Materials Science and Technology of the Technische Universitaet Bergakademie Freiburg, the position of a Full Professor (W3) in Materials Science for Electronic Devices and Sensors (m/f) is to be filled at the earliest date possible.
The successful candidate is able to demonstrate competence in teaching and research within the entire field of materials for electronic devices and sensors (sensors, actors, electronic components etc.) covering in particular their functionality with the exploitation of diverse material groups (specifically semiconductors as well as ceramics, polymers, metals) under the application of the relevant manufacturing technologies (in particular, thin film and semiconductor technology).
The candidate will be responsible for teaching and research in the fields of:
* Functional materials and their interaction in electronic, magnetic and optical systems
* Functional material systems based on semiconductors
* Technologies in the production of electronic and sensor materials
* Application and functionality of electronic and sensor materials
* Smart composite materials
Interdisciplinary cooperation with other research groups at the Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg is essential; especially with the institutes and research groups from the Faculty/Department of Materials Science and Technology and from the Faculty of Chemistry and Physics. Participation in the operation of the clean room lab at the university is encouraged. Experience in the acquisition of research projects from non-university resources is essential/required. The candidate must also be able to hold lectures and seminars in both German and English.
The candidate must satisfy the general prerequisites for an appointment as a professor in accordance with paragraph 58 of the Saxon University Law, dated December 10, 2008 (Sächs GVBl. Nr. 19/2008, S. 900) in the applicable valid version. The TU Bergakademie Freiberg is committed to increasing the ratio of women in teaching and research positions. Candidates appointed for the first time will be employed on a temporary basis with a probationary period of two years. TU Bergakademie Freiberg is devoted to an instructional and research concept that expects faculty members to relocate their domicile to the vicinity of Freiberg.
