Breaking down Barriers

The heterolytic dissociation process associated with the activation of single-electron-transfer living-radical polymerization is examined through the use of energy profile modeling. These studies suggest that the activation barrier for electron transfer is very small in many electron-deficient organic halides associated with SET-LRP.
